Megan Russell was born and raised in painfully sunny Sarasota, Florida. When it reached time for college, she realized her skin would most likely burn off if she were to stay in the state any longer. She fled to Baltimore, MD where she attended the Maryland Institute College of Art and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration during the Spring of 2008.

Her work is generally based on Fairy Tales, Myths, and Fables and heavily influenced by Art Nouveau, Theatre, Ballet Russe, and the Golden Age Illustrators.

She works mainly in pen and ink, digital, watercolor, and intaglio.
